THE PEACE OF GOD!

SCRIPTURE REFERENCE

“Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:7 NLT

CONTENT

Usually, whenever Paul writes to the church, he starts with two basic words “GRACE AND PEACE” either at the beginning or at the end of his letters.

Wherever there is God’s grace, peace reigns there too. Peace isn’t the absence of storms but it is the rest and confidence in God’s word in our heart even in storms.

I know there are times your heart gets so troubled probably because of the situation at home or the things you personally go through. One thing that you should trust God to get is a peaceful heart irrespective of the situation.

I’ll share just one thing that I have learnt and practised with you. Each time it looks as if my heart is getting worried about an issue, I switch to that practice and that is simply confessing the Word of God regularly. There are thousands of promises in the Bible. The more of it you digest, the more you displace fear in your heart and fill it up with the peace of God.

If I promise you a hundred million naira after school, even if you don’t have anything in your pocket, the more you remember that promise, you encourage yourself. This is because there is a promise waiting for you.

I’ll have peace of mind when traveling because I know that God has said I shall not die and that my bones shall not be broken. This is what brings confidence and Peace.

You cannot confess what has not been stored in your heart. You have to consciously spend time storing up His word in your heart so that you’ll be able to withstand the wiles of the wicked one.

ACT

Search out five of God’s promises concerning your life and meditate on it throughout this weekend. The more you do this, the more you displace fear and you’ll begin to enjoy this peace of God.
